On the design table

So yesterday I finished the big red pillow,  I'm really loving this textured black fabric that I'm using right now to design these.  I'm getting close to using it up though, but I have incorporated it into the new beauty that I'm working on today.
Sewing, designing, sewing.  Super Tuesday everyone!

Stripping isn't easy, stripping screens that is, heehee

OK, stripping the screens didn't go as planned yesterday, the emulsion just wouldn't come out of the screens. Whether the reclaiming solution was old or just stored at a temperature to hot, it was not going to remove that emulsion. So the alternative was to pop the screens and replace them with new, stretch them and prep them with a degreasing. Now they're ready for their new emulsion coating, hopefully by they end of the day I'll have them all burned with their new images.  Here are 2 of my 3 furry kids, Zen the kitty was off sleeping somewhere, couldn't find her. Lil' Shimmey Marie is on the left and Dunkin Jay is the sleepy guy on the right. Aren't they soooo cute!
Off to work with screens, have a fantastic weekend!

Prepping screens for printing

These are the stack of transparencies that I will be burning to the screens the rest of this week and weekend once I apply the emulsion to the screens.

My first step will be to degrease the screens in the picture on the left. The pic on the right has the screens that I need to strip the old emulsion out of, then I'll apply new emulsion to them, and voila I'll be ready to burn my new images.

These next pics are of the 6 bags that I finished today, I'm attaching removable handles to these with nickel clips once I find the right ones that will fit the bags nicely. On the left are the bag images from the front, in the right pics they show the fabric that I used on the back of the each bag. This goes for all of the images below as well.
Good day everyone!

New ink colors arrived

As scheduled, my package of silk screening supplies arrived right on time yesterday via UPS. Here are just some of the new ink colors that I have been waiting for, they are going to be gorgeous when printed onto fabric and paper. Trust me they will. :)

Still working away on finalizing the zip bags today. These 4 are almost finished, then I have only 2 left to go before I move onto playing with my screens and new colors. After that I have a million more things to do before opening the new store, but it's all fun baby!
Off to sew, happy day!

New inks arriving via UPS today, yeah!

These 3 images are of the 6 bags that I will be cutting and sewing today as I wait for the UPS person to deliver my new exciting inks and emulsion, so I can move onto burning screens and printing new images this week. So EXCITING! I can't wait to see my new ink colors coming in.

Here's the update from the bags that I put together yesterday. On the left is the before photo before they were sewn into the little zip clutches that will be in the store soon.
Good day everyone! Lots to do today, and I'm off.

Over the weekend

These are 4 zip clutch beauties that I am working on today. On the back 2 of them I used a sassy zebra print with a matching handle for a little fun.

New little red zip bag without a handle has the zebra print on it also. The blue birds is the zip bag that I showed the other day that has the black with tiny blue dots on the back.

The pile to the little clutch zip bags is growing fast for the store that will open soon. I added 6 more over the weekend and have a total of 8 more to go before my new shipment of inks arrive tomorrow. Then I'm off to burn more screens and play with new yummy ink colors. Exciting things always going on here at Pierro Studios! :)
Off to sew.

Zips, Zips, Zips, lots of pics of zips today

These are pics of the zip bags that I sewed yesterday. The colors are off in the pictures, I'm working on better lighting and playing with the settings on the camera so I can get more accurate images.

I used a black check fabric for the handle, the lining and back of the bag.

Front of the bird bag.

I love this black fabric with bright blue dots the covers the back of the Bird bag.

Inside I used a silky bright blue fabric for a little sass inside of the bag.

Another style of zip back that I put together. These would be great for holding make, makeup brushes, or pens pencils.

A little sassy red pleather for the back of the bag for a little kick!

Pieces cut and ready for the next bag to be sewn.

The day is filled with more sewing the pile of zip bags still on my desk, how fun!
Have a fantastic weekend!

New products

This is just a few sewing projects lined-up on my desk to be attended to this week. There are plenty of pillows and zip bags that are going to be made out of the print blocks that I printed recently. All of these products will be in the store in the next couple of weeks. I'll post pics as they are done.
Off to work,

Testing and Happy Birthday

I received some fabric samples in the mail the other day from a new fabric mill that I'm giving a try. This week or next I'll be doing a test screen print on these fabrics to see how they look. Lots to do though, with stripping screens, stretching screens, adding emulsion to screens and burning new screens. Then printing will begin. All fun!

Last night I made this little tote bag for my niece's 2nd birthday which is next week. I made it to hold her new crayons, coloring book, her first Dr. Seuss book, and her first sketch book. Even though she's only 2, she already loves to draw. That a girl! :)

Busy, busy, busy!!!! Life is good!

It's been a while since my last post simply because I have been so busy with designing new products. Which I love, love to do. I have been working on purses, small zip bags, book covers, pillows and anything else I can think of. Above are just some of the new pillow designs that will eventually be going onto the store. I have some more screens to burn so I can silk screen some new images.

This is just some of the new yummy fabric that I purchased last week that will be used to make more pillows, book covers, zip bags ect.. I just love fabric and all things you can make with it.

These chickens always remind me of my Grandma who loved to sew. She designed and made these at least 20 years ago before she died. She made them especially to be used as pin cushions, and I'm getting great use of them, as well as, keeping my Grandma close. Love you Grandma.
