Lots of new scrumptiousness!

A small sneak peek of some of the new goodies going to the show to share their splendor, then they will shine on the store front.

Layering of textures, patterns and color

Pile of pillows and zip bags

The joy of textured fringe makes the heart sing

Natural tribal

The joy is in the details... like these tiny bells that adorn this little pillow.  They're so tiny... yet so cute.

Just the beginning of the pile of little zip pouches... lots more to come.

Lots more splendid things to come this week.

New pillows

These are some of my new experiments with some 12"x12" pillows, I have new print designs that have layered textures with my silk-screen images.   It was tons of fun to do and will be in more of my work in the near future.  I also have been experimenting with sewing the pillows together with more cut up yummy fabrics and adding the Turkish fringe (loving it!).  These are just 2 new designs out of 17 new pillows that were designed this week, today I'll be making all of their inserts.  Hopefully I'll be able to take pictures of everything before I take them to the show, which is quickly approaching.   Yikes!
Over the weekend the goal is to finish the 6 purses, and 17 pillows, then make some more little zip bags for the show.  I also have errands to run to pick up any sewing supplies needed, grocery shopping, cleaning the house, and grooming and washing 2 dogs.  I can do it, no problem. LOL :)
Have a splendicular weekend!

Onto pillows

So I'm onto making 12"x12" pillows for todays work, trying to use up all those zips that I have on hand in my supplies.  These are going to be fun decorative pillows for someone's home, office or to give as a gift.

New designs

I'm having a ball working away on all of my new purse designs for the up coming show that's in a week and a half- exciting!  The show is in the beautiful downtown Celebration Fl.
On the design table right now is a bag in process.  The outer shell is done and waiting for her lining to be finished so they can be sewn together.  I'm pinning red with black polka dot fabric that is making up the pockets. How fun to look into your bag and not only have big spacious pockets, but fun pockets made of sassy fabric.  This is what I think makes a bag fun, a splash of color on the inside of the bag to compliment the outside of the bag.  Yum!
Happy Wednesday everyone!

Designing and new lights

Fabric laid out on the design table ready to be designed, cut and sewn into 7 new bags for the up coming show.  Looks to be a fun and busy day.  Just noticed that one of my favorite books is on display in this pic  "The Bag Making Bible" my favorite go to book for constructing bags by the wonderfulLisa Lam.  Check out her site for sewing materials, tutorials, and lots of fun goodness.

New bags in process of being made, just waiting for their zips to go in before anything else can move forward.

New lighting system to photograph my products and perhaps the furry kids head shots just for fun.
You might notice the printed fabrics in these bags that were in yesterdays blog post of the recent collage type prints that I have been working on.  Well, they have begun to be incorporated into my new bag designs that I worked on all day yesterday.  They're in progress right now, I have them already up to the point of inserting their zips.  The handles and lining are also already to go, but those zips need to go in before I can move forward.  The plan is to line up a bunch of bags then go to the store this weekend to purchase the coordinating zip color.  So much fun, loving it!  I have fabric laid out on the design table ready to be cut into 7 new bags for their very own fabulousness.
Introducing my new lighting system that I recently purchased to photograph my work.  It puts out tons of light but the pics are still a little darker than I want.  Still playing with the settings.  I'll get it soon by God.
Happy Tuesday!  Off too design, cut and sew!

New prints

It's been so exciting to be back in the print studio over the last week or so.  I've been working on new collage designs that are being turned into pillows, bags, and purses (new to the store) that I'm working on this week.  As I test and learn the new lighting system the pics of these new products will be posted to the online store soon.
Other exciting news, I'm participating in my first local show in less than 2 weeks-yikes!  I'm going to be busy, busy, busy making these new items that will be available in my booth.  It's the Celebration Art and Wine Stroll in downtown Celebration, Fl on February   26th.  Hope to see all of you there.

Off to sew and photograph today.

Leaves

This is just one of the new designs that I have been working on lately with a new pillow size of 12"x12".  I'm still playing around with the new lighting system that I recently invested in to achieve better photos, I think I may need a couple more lights.

Lots of new fabric and purse designs to come.

Have a fantastic Super-bowl weekend!

Topsy Turvy

Big changes have been going on in the design studio over the first couple of weeks in the new year.  With the selling of my animation desk, with her sister scene stackers, and the addition of an new design table in my studio things have been very topsy turvy around here. Stuff is being thrown out, reorganized and redesigned thus leaving less time for blogging lately.  Hopefully next week things will be getting back to a new normal.  I have also been very busy designing new products to list to the store soon. I'm also playing with a new light system so I can get the most perfect pics of my work. Keep an eye open for all the new goodies.
2011 is starting off to be a good year!
Have a splendid weekend.

Good-bye my love!

My lovely Walt Disney Animation desk and 2 scene stackers have sold to a wonderful new home in Atlanta Georgia.  I will miss her but know that she is going to a good, loving home where she can do what she does best.  The movers were here right at 9:15 this morning to load'em up onto their massive truck.  Everything went off without a hitch and off they went so they can roll into Atlanta tomorrow morning.  Check out the many pics that I took of the moving process.

PS: I promise I dusted everything before they went out the door.
Enjoy!
xoxo.

First day back in the new year

Happy New year everyone! Even though I went back to work last week today is my first day back to blog in the new year.  I had a WONDERFUL Christmas vacation with my husband and furry kids; lots of food, rest, movies, snuggling and sugar cookies.  It was awesome!
Right before the week of Christmas I had a lovely patron from Bedford Massachusetts who purchased almost all of my pillows, 15 in all.  Wow, what a wonderful order to start my newly opened store and an even more wonderful way to help end the year.  Right before  Christmas break things got wonderfully crazy with orders flying off the shelves, I can say that it was all very exciting to see so many people giving my pillows, bags and prints  as gifts for Christmas.  Thanks to all of you fantastic people.

So, exciting things going on in the studio since I've been back to work.  I've had my first published interview by my friend Mirjana Cesar who I've know for years,  I met her through her husband, Darko, who my husband and I worked with at the Walt Disney Animation studio.  Mirjana is a fantastic artist and designer who sells her  work on her site.  Check out the interview and all of Mirjana's work at her blog   http://mirjanacesar.blogspot.com/
Over break I decided that my New Year needed some changing up, my office/studio space is just not as work friendly as I would like and desperately need.  I made the decision that it was time to sell my Walt Disney Animation desk that I purchased before I left the studio here in Orlando Florida when it closed.  Little bit of a hard decision for sentimental reasons but the lovely lady is just not being utilized the way that she needs to be.  And I need a desk/ table that I can cut fabrics, pin projects, and layout designs on.  I also needed something that has more storage for all of the yummy fabrics and goodies that I have on hand to design new products for the store.  So yes, the desk has gone up for sale for the original price that I bought her for, $1200.  Contact me if you are interested.  As of right now I do have a buyer interested but nothing has been finalized yet.  I have quite a few people interested so far.  She's already been pushed off into a corner in another room until the right owner has claimed her as their own.
Off to redesign my studio space and create, create, create to restock the store from it's wonderful holiday purchases.

Jacque :)
