Fashion pillows, fun and sassy!

I put together these pillows over the weekend from some of the prints that I did on cloth of one of my fashion images. I really like how these turned out and will be putting them and other designs together to sell on my shop. On the back of the pillow I chose to use some left over zebra print fabric just waiting to be used for this project, I like how it compliments the print.

This past weekend I completed the process of reclaiming all of my screens to prepare them for the new batch of images that I have been working on. Reclaiming is a process that strips out the old emulsion (the chemical that makes the stencil on the screen) and remove the ghosting image left from ink that has stained the screen. The removal of the ghosting image didn't go as well as the stripping process, there were a lot of ghosts that just wouldn't come out of the screens. I'll have to look for a better chemical that does a better job. But all 27 screens are prepped and ready for new emulsion to be applied so I can burn the new crop of images onto them. Which means a new batch of shirts will be printed soon onto the new shirts that I should be receiving in the mail any day now. Oooooooh, the smell of a new crop.

I also had to include images of the avocados that I'm growing in our kitchen windowsill. The seeds came from fresh avocados that we ate within the last couple of weeks.

Yesterday I printed some of my new designs on the new shirts that I ordered last week. The test was a great success to help me figure out which shirts I like the best for the final selection that will go onto the new online store. I'm not going to use the v-neck style shirt, but there's a scoop neck style that I like nuch better. At the end of the month I have an order that's shipping with some really cool styles of shirts that I can't wait to get my hands on to test print. They're a little more unique in designs.

My babies (Shimmey & Zen) are having a little love fest on my office chair while I'm working, aren't they adorable! They just love each other, they play and wrestle all the time.

Website

I've been working away making changes to my website trying to get the look and feel that's just right. I've changed the opening page to an illustration that I feel is stronger than the original illustration. I've also made a few other changes like the Jacque Pierro logo, I'm trying to get the over all look I want for my clothing, packaging, webite, logo, and anything else that comes along. Busy, busy,busy!

I've been very busy the last couple of days working on freelance work and building my new website. The site is still in progress, but check it out anyway, www.JacquePierro.com , it has a much different design and much different work than when I was doing my Hey Poodle line. I am having so much more fun now doing my work without having the reins of contracts on me. I like the freedom to change what ever I want when ever I want as I see fit. And I love designing products that I actually can be proud of when they go to market. Pushing forward, pushing forward, pushing forward. Still waiting on some of the new shirts for me to print my designs onto. Can't wait to see these new shirts, I hope they turn out as nice as the photos showed when I ordered them, they're really cool designs. I think my images will look cool on them.

How do you like the pic of my sister Heather and I? Aren't we hilarious. We're in front of our wood playhouse, I LOVED that thing! Heather and I decided to dress up for the fun of it, I was a fashion designer and Heather was a backward hobo. Yes, I said it "a backward hobo". She still doesn't know why she came up with this, but isn't she adorable! :)

Once I finish some freelance tomorrow, it's time to get out into the studio to play with some ink and screens.

New designs

It's been a busy last month with freelance, new designs, home stuff, and just everyday life that has kept me busy and away from posting on my blog. I'm in the process of designing new designs that I will be printing onto new clothing that I have been ordering. My first shipment of shirts came today and I'm happy with them so far, I do think they're just a tad more sheer than I wanted. I just want to test them for printing and washing to see how they hold-up before I post them onto the new Pierro Studios website store. Once they pass the test and I have made my final decisions on the designs to go onto the clothing the store should be up and running in no time. In the mean time here are some designs that I am considering.
