My pledge to the Etsy Success Holiday Boot Camp!

I, Jacque Pierro, pledge to participate in the Etsy Success Holiday Boot Camp to the best of my abilities. I vow to check in every week, do my homework and support my fellow Holiday Boot Campers. I will read the weekly newsletters and blog posts, check in on the weekly forum thread, read the weekly blog post, check off the checklists and salute the mascot. I promise to share what I've learned with those who need it, support my fellow Etsy indiepreneurs and, most of all, have a positive and persistent attitude. I understand that together we can spread the word about our handmade and vintage goods, making this holiday season a more unique and meaningful one to gift givers and give-ees everywhere!
I'm looking forward to meeting new people and a lot of fun, oh yeah, learning something new.
It's almost the weekend, the first weekend of fall.  Here in Orlando, Florida the love-bugs have been spotted which means the cooler weather is setting in, which we need, it's still 90 degrees here.  I'm so ready for fall and the holiday season.
Xoxo,
Jacque :)

Happy Birthday Mom!

My mom's birthday is tomorrow, the first day of fall, and these are some little fun packages that I sent out to her.  I think she'll get a kick out of the sassy wrapping that I put together.  I made the pink boxes out of paper from a video that I watched on Etsy.com, it was super easy and fun, she'll love them.  Happy Birthday Mom!
It's been a very exciting time putting the store together this week, I'll keep everyone posted on the progress.
Happy, Happy!

My husbands amazing, successful show!

Jeep all packed and ready to head to the show.

The show was at the beautiful City Arts Factory gallery in downtown Orlando.

My handsome husband unpacking his amazing work.  Amazing husband & person and amazing work, I'm a lucky girl!

Laying out the game plan.

Which ones are going up on the wall and where?

Up go the masks.

More masks go up.

Tweaking mask next to the beautiful sculpture.

Another amazing mask.

Time to start filling in with the pen and ink drawings.

Things are coming together.

Title cards in place, cloths are draped for sculptures, the show is looking good and ready to go.

This little beauty sold as we were hanging the show, yippee!  It was a little favorite and a lot of people wanted to buy it also.

And the show begins!  John talking with Cameron, a fellow artist showing at the gallery.

John showing a buyer and the curator how the mask is attached to the frame that he designed and made. The Gentleman on the far left ended up buying this peace and the one to the upper left of it.   The gentleman in the middle, is the curator of the gallery, who bought a piece that was showing at the front of the entrance.

This is the gentleman who bought the mask and now he is making his final decision on which pen and ink drawing to purchase.

More patrons admiring John's work.

So last week was an amazing, crazy time!  My husband John is part of an art show that is hanging at the CITY ARTS FACTORY gallery in downtown Orlando, Florida for the next month.  The days leading up to the show were frantic with us framing and preparing the art.  Lots of late nights staying up to 4 am to get everything done.  John had a massive amount of work to do over the last month as well, trying to finish the frames for all of the masks, and any drawings that he wanted to add to the show.  But it was all worth it!  The show turned out to be just amazing.  John's work was a huge hit and people flocked to it to admire all that he had created.
Over all five pieces sold on opening night, with one selling as we were hanging the show the day before, making it a total of six pieces sold. Five pen and inks drawings and one mask have already been bought.  The show will hang over the next month with nine other artist that are partaking in the show as well. I am so proud and happy for him, he is truly a talented, amazing person and I'm a very lucky girl!

So onto this week, I'm back on for daily blogging as I prepare my shop.  There's a lot of business stuff to attend to this week with not much designing at this point.  We'll see what the week brings us.

Happy Monday everyone!

Clutch purses

I had a fabulously wonderful, yet extremely busy weekend.  I was able to design the 12" clutch purse just the way I wanted to, she's all ready to go out onto the town.  I have been mixing and matching fabrics to layer the textures and patterns in each purse, like raised textured upholstery fabric, faux suede with my silkscreen textile images.  It gives each bag such variety.  I have also been really giving each clutch special attention to certain types of interfacings and support so each one is plush yet sturdy.  I have  three more that I'm designing right now and then they are free to roam the world.  Soon, very soon they will fly away.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Off the design table

This is my funky baby.  She's done in a textured, fringed zebra print, pretty cool.  She's a perfect size for the center of a bed or sofa.
This little lady is a furry little love, she's super soft and luxurious, oh so yummy.  Also perfect for the center of a bed or sofa.
The exotic beauty.  I added a pattern on the back of the pillow that had a feeling of leopard skin.  She's a 20"x20" pillow.
I was finally able to finish this little love from the other day that I started.  The center pattern fabric on the back is a silky soft fabric, another yum.
It's all a buzz around here! Between assisting my husband, John, with anything he needs help with to pull his gallery show together that is in a week, and projects pilling-up on my design table, and throwing in a little jewelry design freelance work in the mix, it's been just a wee bit busy around here.  But that's how I like it, my hair on fire!  I was able to finish my freelance work on time, super fun, loved the project I was working on and the client was really happy, always good.  I finally returned to my design table and finished these pillow beauties.  None of them have their insert pillows yet, but will soon.  So, I feel that the pillow line is complete at this point and  I  will be moving onto the 12" clutch purse designs sitting on my design table wanting my attention.  Busy but fun weekend in store for me.
Have a fabulous weekend.

Pretty patterns

On the design table today is this lovely little beauty.  I'm in the process of selecting the fabrics that I will be putting with this little lady to make her all fashionable and elegant.  I have a few more pillows that I will be designing before I'm finished with the pillow line, then I'm off to design 12" clutch purses.  What fun! :)
Live artfully!

Finished pillow

Over the weekend I was able to finish-up this little beauty, a little fun and quirky.  She's another 20"x20" pillow that doesn't have her insert pillow yet but will soon.  There's plenty of other projects on the design table waiting to be put together, some of the many projects for me to do this week.
Happy Tuesday everyone!

New pillows

Late start with the posting today, I was out having a great day with the hubby picking out new supplies for a new design element that I want to add to the inventory.  I'll share when it comes together.
So as you can see I'm still on a role with designing new pillows.  I finished the one that was on my table from the other day, yet I still have to make the insert pillow so the cover in the pic is propped up against another one.  On the back I added a little texture pattern with the turquoise and sea foam green swirls, kinda fun with the illustration on the front.
In the bottom pic is the new fun design that I hope to finish over the holiday weekend, hopefully you'll see her Tuesday.
Happy Labor Day all!  The last weekend of summer, make it a good one!

Never give up!

I'm working with a stubborn screen today, the emulsion just doesn't want to come out.  In life I never give up, don't let anyone or anything ever get in the way of your dreams, not even a stubborn screen.
Super Thursday all.

Layering patterns and textures are oh so yummy

Look at my lovely from yesterday, she's a 20"x20" pillow that I just love!  On the back I mixed it up with a pattern print that I felt played well with the swirl line work in the dress of the illustration.  I used textured black fabric that I also feel gives it another layer of texture.  I love layering  textures and patterns.  As you can see what's on my design table right now is another pillow design with a fun pattern that I'm using on the back of this pillow that compliments the illustration.  I can't wait to see how this beauty turns out.  The collection is growing quickly!
Have a splediforous day!
