On the design table

So yesterday I finished the big red pillow,  I'm really loving this textured black fabric that I'm using right now to design these.  I'm getting close to using it up though, but I have incorporated it into the new beauty that I'm working on today.

Long panel pillow

So over the weekend I played around with a larger pillow design.  I framed out a printed panel that I really liked with this new textured black upholstry fabric, I mean it's really super cool!  The pillow is much larger than the ones that I have been working on over the last couple of weeks, the final measurements are 29"x15.5".  It will look really wonderful in the middle of a sofa or lounge chase.  The pillows that I design are really more of a decorative art piece for your furniture than the regular old throw pillow that you lounge around on.  I'm very pleased how this pillow turned out, so today I'm working on another one with another cool print that I really like.  Maybe pics tomorrow my lovelies.

A time for charity

I received an email the other day from the local SPCA of Central Florida that they needed help making blankets for the kitties at the humane society.  I have been wanting to volunteer in some way, buy it's never a good idea to put me in an area with animals who need homes because I can't resist not bring another one home with me.  I already have three furry kids here at the house.  I don't even go to PetSmart anymore to buy pet food so I don't run into animal rescues on sight, I go to Walmart to buy the kids Iams food instead.  So this type of volunteer work is right up my alley, I can certainly sew and I have tons of fleece material from an old project that I didn't know what to do with.  Yesterday I cut up all of the fabric and started to sew,  I have seven blankets done so far.  As you can see from the photos above I have a long way to go, but it will be a fun and worth while project.  To volunteer at the local  SPCA of Central Florida click HERE  there are a lot of different ways to donate to help the furry little critters here in Florida.

Pillow talk

For the rest of this  week it's time to design the pillows for the shop.  I have a stack of fabric that I printed  over the last couple of weeks that I can't wait to put to pillow form.  I have several different sizes of panels to work with to produce a variety of different sizes of pillows to choose from, how fun!

Designing, designing, designing

So I'm in the process of designing larger handbags, mostly clutch styles right now.   The larger bags are the two sizes that I played around with last night.  The little bags are the fat bottom bags that I finished earlier this week, I just put them in the pics for fun.  These aren't finished yet, there's still some tweaking and fun things like hardware to add to make them more polished.

Off to work on the million things that I want to do today.  Have a super duper day!

Hot off the design table

Eighteen new little fat bottom bags are done and ready to go, there's a fun variety of patterns and colors to choose from.  I also used a variety of lining colors inside each bag as well in a twill fabric; there's tomato red, kaki, olive green, and chocolate brown, yummy!

I'm in the process of designing a new larger clutch bag with a little fat bottom on it, I guess the little fat bottom bag has inspired me.

They're multiplying

The little fat bottom bags are multiplying quickly!   I actually have about 7 more that I'm making today before moving onto larger bags and pillows the rest of the week.  Oh so fun!

New little fat bottom bag, how cute!

I have to admit that I love this new little bag that I designed yesterday.  It has a nice fat little bottom so it stands up on it's own.  It's small enough to fit into a larger bag to hold all of you smaller stuff like cell phone, i-pod, makeup, keys, ect. , but it could also be used as a small sassy little evening bag.  The fabric on the back is faux black suede and is super yummy soft.  The inside fabric is a sturdy, yet fashionable tan twill.  I'll be working on these little guys the next couple of days, then they'll be up for sale in the next couple of weeks.

Ready to go forward

My stack of fabrics are finished and ready to be magically transformed into beautiful pieces.  There is going to be a lot of design and sewing the next couple of weeks, but I love this part, well really I love all of the parts.

Funky lady

Well, I'm wrapping it up today with the printing.  I have a few more images that I want to add  to the pile, but then that's it.  The funky lady images are going to be made into matching 20"x20" pillows, I think they turned out pretty cool.

Off to order more supplies, print, and flash my fabrics to set them.   Have a spectacular day!

Red

Just a few pics of newly printed fabric from yesterday. Still in the throws of printing again today. I might wrap-up today or tomorrow, I'll see how it goes.

Printing, and then some more printing

                                        

So I'm still in printing mode in the studio, these are images of some of the prints from yesterday. I'm putting together as many fabric prints so I have a decent amount to choose from so I can magically sew them into pieces for the store. I'm getting a lot of different varieties to choose from that I'm happy with so far. I'm in the printing studio again to hopefully wrap it up today, I'll see how it goes. Then I'll move onto flashing the fabrics to set the ink, then start designing new pieces.

Pretty colors

Fantastic day of printing yesterday, here are just a few of the results. Heading back out into the printing studio today to add to the collection of new fabrics. I can't wait to sew with these this weekend and next week.

Prints

Just a couple of prints that I did yesterday, a very loooong day of printing but a very good day. I like to put down various patterns and blocks of color onto the fabric before I come back and print with the screens of my illustrations. It jazzes up the images and creates original works of art when I sew them into different pieces.

I'm getting a late start today on printing and blogging because I've just returned from a fabulous lunch with my friends from the old mouse house studio, Walt Disney Animation. Some of them I haven't seen in a while and it was so good to be with everyone again. Hope to have lunch again real soon and stay in touch with the ones who are out of town.

Can't you smell the ink already?

The pic on the left is the stack of new images that I will be printing today onto cloth, then they will be turned into beautiful products the rest of this week. The pic on the right is an image of a print that I did the last go around, this week I'll turn that into a pillow.  Here are pics of the stack of prepped and cut fabric that I will be printing onto with my newly burned screens that I did over the weekend. Can't you smell the ink already?
